Acute Periapical Periodontitis

Acute Periapical Periodontitis

Alta Stomatology is an innovative oral disease research company dedicated to developing effective solutions for acute periapical periodontitis. Acute periapical periodontitis, also known as periradicular periodontitis, is a condition that develops when bacteria enter the apical portion of a tooth's tip, usually occurring after trauma or infection. At Alta Stomatology, we're dedicated to offering one-stop services for acute periapical periodontitis research, including whole-genome sequencing, the development of novel therapies, and the molecular mechanisms behind this disorder. If you have any needs, please feel free to contact us.

Research on Acute Periapical Periodontitis

Periapical periodontitis is an inflammatory disease that affects the tissues surrounding the root end of a tooth and is caused by infection of the root canal (endodontic). The disease can manifest itself in different clinical ways, including the development of an acute abscess. The acute abscess can be regarded as an advanced stage of the symptomatic form of apical periodontitis.

Non-surgical root canal therapy is the treatment of choice for periapical periodontitis and is used to eliminate or reduce the bacterial load inside the endodontium, thus resolving the inflammatory reaction and promoting healing of the periapical tissues. A possible beneficial effect of the use of statins on the inception and healing of AP has been suggested by recent literature. In dental field, administration of statins has shown a favorable effect in preventing alveolar bone loss in animal experimental periodontitis.

At the same time, dental stem cells have been successfully isolated from teeth and surrounding tissues, and they have shown great potential for clinical application. To date, many articles using dental stem cells have reported the treatment of pulpitis, periapical lesions, periodontitis, cleft lip and palate, acute ischemic stroke, and so on, and DSC-based therapies obtained satisfactory effects in most clinical trials.

Our Diagnosis Methods

At Alta Stomatology, we understand the importance of accurate diagnosis for effective treatment of acute periapical periodontitis. That's why we have developed cutting-edge diagnosis methods to guide the diagnosis and assessment of the severity of apical periodontitis disease.

Diagnosis Methods Description
X-ray Radiograph We employ state-of-the-art X-ray technology to obtain detailed images of the teeth, enabling our experts to diagnose periapical inflammatory lesions.
Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) CBCT offers 3D evaluation of the maxillofacial region with minimal distortion. It can detect periapical lesions in many cases. CBCT scans provide a three dimensional evaluation of periapical pathology along with information of the canal morphology.
