Acute Pulpitis

Acute Pulpitis

Alta Stomatology is an innovative oral disease research company dedicated to developing effective solutions for acute pulpitis. Acute pulpitis is an acute inflammation of pulp tissue caused by bacteria invading the pulp. At Alta Stomatology, we're dedicated to offering one-stop services for acute pulpitis research, including whole-genome sequencing, the development of novel therapies, and the molecular mechanisms behind this disorder. If you have any needs, please feel free to contact us.

Research on Acute Pulpitis

Acute pulpitis is an acute inflammation of pulp tissue caused by bacteria invading the pulp. Because the nerve fibers of the pulp are very sensitive, mild irritation can cause severe pain when the pulp becomes inflamed and edema occurs. If pulpitis is not controlled in time, it can cause periapical tissue infection through apical foramina, and even infection in the jaw bone, which will cause serious harm to the oral health of patients.

Currently, root canal treatment is the preferred clinical treatment for acute pulpitis. This treatment method first opens the pulp chamber, removes the inflamed pulp tissue, and releases the pressure in the pulp chamber to relieve pain. Afterwards, the root canals need to be disinfected, then filled and sealed with biocompatible materials to prevent reinfection.

Root canal filling materials are also called root canal sealers. They are classified into five main groups according to their composition: zinc oxide eugenol (ZOE) based, calcium hydroxide based, glass ionomer-based, resin-based, and bioceramic sealers. In addition, core obturation materials are required during root canal treatment. Its purpose is to fill the bulk of the root canal space and act as a plug to prevent any leakage or ingress of foreign material.

For the establishment of animal model of acute pulpitis, we can provide the rat and rabbit acute pulpitis models.

Animal Model Type Experimental Method
Rat Acute Pulpitis Model The rat was anesthetized, and a cavity was prepared on the rat's mandibular first molar through an air turbine and a 1/2 tungsten carbide bur to expose the pulp point. Place the paper tip impregnated with Escherichia coli endotoxin into the cavity and temporarily seal it.
Rabbit Acute Pulpitis Model New Zealand white rabbits were anesthetized and fixed, and the buccal and lingual surfaces of the bilateral mandibular incisors were disinfected with 75% ethanol by volume. Use a 0.5 mm ball drill to open the pulp on the lingual surface and drill to a depth of 9 mm to expose the pulp penetration point. After placing a cotton ball soaked in Streptococcus mutans solution at the pulp point, the tooth cavity is temporarily sealed.

Our Diagnosis Methods

At Alta Stomatology, we understand the importance of accurate diagnosis for effective treatment of acute pulpitis. That's why we have developed cutting-edge diagnosis methods to guide the diagnosis and assessment of the severity of apical periodontitis disease.

Diagnosis Methods Description
X-ray Examination We use the most advanced X-ray technology to obtain detailed images of the pulp in order to accurately diagnose acute pulpitis.
Laser Doppler Flowmetry Examination Laser doppler flowmetry uses helium-neon or semiconductor as the laser light source. The detection principle is that the Doppler phenomenon absorbs the reflected light with frequency drift caused by the movement of blood cells, and the flow and flow rate of blood cells are detected based on the intensity and frequency shift of the reflected light. The test results can reflect the pulp blood flow and thereby determine the pulp vitality.
