Chronic Osteomyelitis With Proliferative Periostitis/Garré's Osteomyelitis

Chronic Osteomyelitis With Proliferative Periostitis/Garré's Osteomyelitis

Alta Stomatology is an innovative oral disease research company dedicated to developing effective solutions for chronic osteomyelitis with proliferative periostitis. Osteomyelitis with proliferative periostitis is a relatively uncommon inflammatory condition of the jaws, mainly characterized by periosteal formation of reactive bone. At At Alta Stomatology, we're dedicated to offering one-stop services for Garré's osteomyelitis research, including whole-genome sequencing, the development of novel therapies, and the molecular mechanisms behind this disorder. If you have any needs, please feel free to contact us.

Research on Chronic Osteomyelitis With Proliferative Periostitis/Garré's Osteomyelitis

Chronic osteomyelitis with proliferative periostitis is also traditionally known as Garré's osteomyelitis. Garré's osteomyelitis of the jaw refers to a particular type of pathological change and clinical manifestation of chronic marginal osteomyelitis, which is also known as proliferative osteomyelitis or low-toxicity sclerosing osteomyelitis. This type of osteomyelitis is more common in younger patients, and the lesions more commonly occur in the mandible. Garré's osteomyelitis is caused by a low virulence infection and is characterised by chronic non-suppurative osteomyelitis with proliferative osteomyelitis. Chronic osteomyelitis with proliferative periostitis is an uncommon disease associated with new bone formation with periosteal reaction.

The imaging findings in Garré's osteomyelitis of the jaws are bone hyperplasia and destruction, and some of these findings are similar to the x-ray manifestations of malignant tumours. Garré's osteomyelitis manifests as periosteal thickening and subperiosteal new bone formation, radiopaque lamination is observed parallel to the surface of the cortical bone. Most lesions are localised around the buccal cortex of the teeth from which the periostitis originates. Histological examination showing new bone formation under the periosteal layer is characteristic of the disease. On the surface of the dense bone, the new bone trabeculae are perpendicular to the bone surface and are arranged in parallel and surrounded by osteoblasts.

Our Services

At Alta Stomatology, we are committed to providing top-notch services in the field of oral disease research, specifically focusing on chronic osteomyelitis with proliferative periostitis and and its prevention and treatment. In lesions of chronic osteomyelitis with proliferative periostitis, histopathology plays a major role in determining the final diagnosis and subsequent course of treatment.

Our Diagnosis Methods

At Alta Stomatology, we understand the importance of accurate diagnosis for effective treatment of chronic osteomyelitis with proliferative periostitis. That's why we have developed cutting-edge diagnosis methods to guide the diagnosis and assessment of the severity of jaw disease.

Diagnosis Methods Description
Radiography Examination We employ state-of-the-art radiography technology to obtain detailed images of the jaw, enabling our experts to accurately identify lesions occurring in the jaw.
Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) Cone beam computed tomography is a CT technique that uses far less radiation than conventional CT and captures multiple views of the patient in a single 360° rotation. The information thus obtained is then processed and reconstructed in different planes (multiplanar reconstruction) and, if necessary, three-dimensionally as well.
