Dentinogenic Ghost Cell Tumor

Dentinogenic Ghost Cell Tumor

Alta Stomatology is an innovative oral disease research company dedicated to developing effective solutions for dentinogenic ghost cell tumor. Dentinogenic ghost cell tumor is a benign but locally infiltrative odontogenic tumor characterized by ameloblastoma-like epithelium with varying amounts of ghost cells and dentinoid. At Alta Stomatology, we're dedicated to offering one-stop services for dentinogenic ghost cell tumor research, including whole-genome sequencing, the development of novel therapies, and the molecular mechanisms behind this disorder. If you have any needs, please feel free to contact us.

Research on Dentinogenic Ghost Cell Tumor

Dentinogenic ghost cell tumor (DGCT), also known as calcifying ghost cell odontogenic tumor, is a rare benign odontogenic (originating from tooth-related tissues) tumor that primarily affects the jaws. It was first described by Praetorius et al. in 1981.

This tumor is characterized by the presence of ghost cells, which are amorphous eosinophilic structures resembling cells but lacking nuclei. These ghost cells calcify within the tumor, giving it a distinct radiographic appearance. Dentinogenic ghost cell tumor typically presents as a well-defined radiolucent (dark) lesion with scattered areas of calcification or radiopacity (whitish appearance).

The exact origin and pathogenesis of dentinogenic ghost cell tumor are still not completely understood. It is believed to arise from the epithelial remnants of dental tissues, such as the enamel organ, dental lamina, or remnants of the odontogenic epithelium. Various theories propose that this tumor may originate from cells associated with the development of dentin or odontoblasts, which are responsible for the formation of tooth dentin.

Our Services

At Alta Stomatology, we are committed to providing top-notch services in the field of oral disease research, specifically focusing on dentinogenic ghost cell tumor and and its prevention and treatment. By detecting genetic abnormalities, chromosomal variations or mutations in DGCT patient samples, we can explore the genetic mechanisms related to the occurrence of DGCT. Histological examination and immunohistochemical analysis were performed on DGCT samples to determine their characteristic cytological and histological features.

Our Diagnosis Methods

At Alta Stomatology, we understand the importance of accurate diagnosis for effective treatment of dentinogenic ghost cell tumor. That's why we have developed cutting-edge diagnosis methods to guide the diagnosis and assessment of the severity of odontogenic tumor disease.

Diagnosis Methods Description
Radiography Examination We employ state-of-the-art radiography technology to obtain detailed images of the location of the lesion, type of lesion, etc., enabling our experts to accurately identify tumor occurring in the oral cavity.
Immunohistochemical Analysis Immunohistochemistry is an antibody-based technique used to detect protein expression in tissues whose structure and organization have been preserved. Immunohistochemical analysis is performed to study the pathological mechanisms of these tumors and identify potential therapeutic targets.
