Non-Neoplastic Diseases of the Jaw

Non-Neoplastic Diseases of the Jaw

Alta Stomatology is an innovative oral disease research company focused on non-neoplastic diseases of the jaw. Non-neoplastic diseases of the jaw are a group of jaw lesions that do not involve a neoplastic nature and primarily include cherubism/familial fibrous dysplasia of the jaws, hyperparathyroidism, fibrous dysplasia, Langerhans cell histiocytosis, and giant cell granuloma. Each of them can have a significant impact on oral health. Alta Stomatology offers a one-stop service for non-neoplastic diseases of the jaw, covering histopathologic analysis, molecular biology analysis, cell biology analysis, and imaging analysis. Please do not hesitate to contact us for your research needs.

Research on Non-Neoplastic Diseases of the Jaw

Non-neoplastic diseases of the jaw are not caused by abnormal proliferation of tumor cells but are associated with a variety of factors such as heredity, genetic mutations, hormonal disorders, metabolic abnormalities, and abnormalities in immune function, which can lead to symptoms such as pain, swelling, deformity, tooth displacement, and altered occlusion in the jaw.

Among these non-neoplastic jaw disorders, fibrous dysplasia and giant cell granuloma are more frequently occurring. Fibrous dysplasia is a sporadic bone disease with a genetic basis and is classified as monostotic or polyostotic. Giant cell granuloma is a group of multinucleated giant cell-containing lesions of the jaws that develop slowly, most commonly in the anterior region of the mandible in women aged 20 to 30 years old. In contrast, Langerhans cell histiocytosis, cherubism/familial fibrous dysplasia of the jaws, and hyperparathyroidism are relatively rare. Their etiology remains unclear, and studies focus on pathogenesis and genetic patterns.

Our Products

Our Services

Alta Stomatology is dedicated to providing top-notch services in the field of oral disease research, specifically focusing on non-neoplastic diseases of the jaw and their prevention and treatment. Histopathological analysis identifies the cell type and structural features of the diseased tissue, which in turn assesses the extent and scope of non-tumor jaw lesions. Cell biology and molecular biology studies analyze the cellular, genetic, protein, and metabolomic levels, which help to delve deeper into the mechanisms and pathways involved in the development of non-neoplastic diseases of the jaw.

Our Diagnosis Methods

At Alta Stomatology, we understand the importance of accurate diagnosis for effective treatment of non-neoplastic diseases of the jaw. That's why we have adopted cutting-edge diagnosis methods to guide the diagnosis and assessment of the severity of jaw disease.

Diagnosis Methods Description
X-ray Examination We employ advanced X-ray technology to take panoramic oral films, apical films, lateral cephalometric films, etc. These can display the morphology, structure, and density changes of the jaws, which is of significant value in targeting non-neoplastic diseases of the jaw.
Micro-CT Micro-CT analysis tools provide a highly reproducible methodology with qualitative and quantitative assessment of bone microstructure. Micro-CT is considered to be a gold standard method for assessing mineral density, bone morphology, and bone micro-architecture under various pathological conditions.
MRI Scan Test MRI scans have a high resolution for soft tissues and can show soft tissue lesions around the jaw, such as osteonecrosis of the jaw and soft tissue swelling.
Radionuclide Bone Imaging It detects areas of active bone metabolism and helps in the early detection of jaw lesions.
