Odontogenic Carcinoma

Odontogenic Carcinoma

Alta Stomatology is an innovative oral disease research company dedicated to developing effective solutions for odontogenic carcinoma. Benign cementoblastoma (true cementoma) is a rare cementum-producing odontogenic tumor with distinctive clinical and radiographic characteristics. It attaches to the roots of posterior mandibular teeth and grows gradually, causing expansion of the involved jaw. At Alta Stomatology, we're dedicated to offering one-stop services for odontogenic carcinoma research, including whole-genome sequencing, the development of novel therapies, and the molecular mechanisms behind this disorder. If you have any needs, please feel free to contact us.

Research on Odontogenic Carcinoma

Odontogenic Carcinoma (OC) is a malignant epithelial tumor that originates from odontogenic epithelium or its remnants. It is a rare tumor, accounting for a small percentage of all odontogenic tumors. OCs are classified into several subtypes based on their histological features, including clear cell, mucoepidermoid, and squamous cell variants. Odontogenic carcinomas include malignant (metastasizing) ameloblastoma, ameloblastic carcinoma, primary intraosseous squamous cell carcinoma, clear cell odontogenic carcinoma, and malignant epithelial ghost cell tumor.

Clear Cell Odontogenic Carcinoma (CCOC) is one of the subtypes of OC. CCOC is a rare malignant epithelial odontogenic tumor of the jaws that was initially knows as clear cell odontogenic tumor or clear cell ameloblastoma. The histopathological characteristic of this tumor is the sheets or islands of large clear cells with hyperchromatic nuclei and eosinophilic cytoplasm.

Our Diagnosis Methods

At Alta Stomatology, we understand the importance of accurate diagnosis for effective treatment of odontogenic carcinoma. That's why we have developed cutting-edge diagnosis methods to guide the diagnosis and assessment of the severity of odontogenic tumor disease.

Diagnosis Methods Description
Radiography Examination We employ state-of-the-art radiography technology to obtain detailed images of the location of the lesion, type of lesion, etc., enabling our experts to accurately identify tumor occurring in the oral cavity. Radiographic examination reveals a radiopaque mass, attached to the tooth root, bounded by a radiolucent halo, which is of variable and irregular thickness.
Histological Diagnosis Histological examination is a gold standard for the diagnosis of many pathological diseases, for which staining is an essential component. Once the tissue sample has undergone fixation, processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining, it can undergo analysis through microscopy.
