Ossifying Fibroma

Ossifying Fibroma

Alta Stomatology is an innovative oral disease research company dedicated to developing effective solutions for ossifying fibroma. Ossifying fibroma is a benign, slowly progressive, nonaggressive tumor that is considered a type of fibro-osseous lesion. It is associated with the replacement of normal bone architecture with fibrous tissues and irregular bony deposits. At Alta Stomatology, we're dedicated to offering one-stop services for ossifying fibroma research, including whole-genome sequencing, the development of novel therapies, and the molecular mechanisms behind this disorder. If you have any needs, please feel free to contact us.

Research on Ossifying Fibroma

Ossifying fibroma is defined as an encapsulated benign neoplasm composed of varying amounts of bone or cementum-like tissue in the fibrous tissue stroma. It is a slow-growing benign neoplasm that occurs most often in the jaws, especially the mandible. The tumor is composed of bone that develops within fibrous connective tissue. Ossifying fibroma is slow-growing and well-demarcated from the adjacent bone. Some lesions may grow to become massive, causing considerable aesthetic and functional deformities.

Ossifying fibroma most commonly occurs in patients in the second to fourth decades of life, although it may arise in children and adolescents, as well as in older adults. The mandible (particularly the molar region) is affected more often than the maxilla, whereas among the other cranial and facial bones, the periorbital, frontal, ethmoid, sphenoid, and temporal bones are also relatively common sites of this tumor.

Our Diagnosis Methods

At Alta Stomatology, we understand the importance of accurate diagnosis for effective treatment of ossifying fibroma. That's why we have developed cutting-edge diagnosis methods to guide the diagnosis and assessment of the severity of odontogenic tumor disease.

Diagnosis Methods Description
Radiography Examination We employ state-of-the-art radiography technology to obtain detailed images of the location of the lesion, type of lesion, etc., enabling our experts to accurately identify tumor occurring in the oral cavity. Radiographic examination reveals a radiopaque mass, attached to the tooth root, bounded by a radiolucent halo, which is of variable and irregular thickness.
Histological Diagnosis Histological examination is a gold standard for the diagnosis of many pathological diseases, for which staining is an essential component. Once the tissue sample has undergone fixation, processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining, it can undergo analysis through microscopy.
