Pulp Degeneration

Pulp Degeneration

Alta Stomatology is an innovative oral disease research company dedicated to developing effective solutions for pulp degeneration. Pulp degeneration is a common pulp disease caused by the inflammatory response, insufficient blood supply to the pulp, aging and apoptosis of pulp cells. At Alta Stomatology, we're dedicated to offering one-stop services for pulp degeneration research, including whole-genome sequencing, the development of novel therapies, and the molecular mechanisms behind this disorder. If you have any needs, please feel free to contact us.

Research on Pulp Degeneration

Pulp degeneration is a common dental pulp disease in clinical practice. Pulp degeneration is usually caused by inflammatory response, insufficient blood supply to the pulp, aging and apoptosis of pulp cells. After pulp degeneration occurs, there may be no clinical symptoms, or tooth pain and sensitivity may occur. In severe cases, root canal treatment is required.

The most common clinical manifestations of pulp degeneration are pulp calcification and resorption within the pulp cavity. Pulp calcification is caused by the deposition of calcium salts in the dental pulp tissue. X-rays of such patients may reveal a narrowing of the pulp cavity or calcified spots in the pulp cavity. Such patients do not require treatment if they have no special clinical symptoms. Some patients may need pulp plasticization or root canal treatment in the later stages. The main manifestation of resorption within the pulp cavity is the absorption of pulp bone tissue, resulting in the enlargement of the pulp cavity. When the resorption within the pulp cavity progresses into the enamel, tooth discoloration may be visible on the enamel surface. If the absorption in the tooth is severe, the tooth needs to be extracted.

Our Services

At Alta Stomatology, we are committed to providing top-notch services in the field of oral disease research, specifically focusing on the development of root canal filling materials and crown restoration materials for pulp degeneration. Root canal filling materials are also called root canal sealers, which are mainly used to fill root canals during root canal treatment, ensure complete sealing of the root canals and prevent reinfection. Crown restoration materials are mainly used to repair teeth. When the resorption within the pulp cavity causes tooth discoloration, crown restoration materials can be used to improve the appearance of the tooth. Through comprehensive materials characterization and testing, Alta Stomatology aims to discover effective pulp degeneration treatment materials to improve oral health worldwide.

Our Diagnosis Methods

At Alta Stomatology, we understand the importance of accurate diagnosis for effective treatment of pulp degeneration. That's why we have developed cutting-edge diagnosis methods to guide the diagnosis and assessment of the severity of apical periodontitis disease.

Diagnosis Methods Description
X-ray Examination We use the most advanced X-ray technology to obtain detailed images of the pulp in order to accurately diagnose pulp degeneration diseases.
Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a three-dimensional imaging device commonly used for the diagnosis of oral and maxillofacial diseases. Due to its three-dimensional imaging capability and high resolution, CBCT has advantages in diagnosing pulp calcification, root resorption and revealing root canal anatomy. CBCT has become the best tool for pulp disease diagnosis, treatment monitoring and follow-up.
Laser Doppler Flowmetry Examination Laser doppler flowmetry uses helium-neon or semiconductor as the laser light source. The detection principle is that the Doppler phenomenon absorbs the reflected light with frequency drift caused by the movement of blood cells, and the flow and flow rate of blood cells are detected based on the intensity and frequency shift of the reflected light. The test results can reflect the pulp blood flow and thereby determine the pulp vitality.
