Alta Stomatology is an innovative oral disease research company dedicated to developing effective solutions for tuberculous osteomyelitis. Bony tuberculosis of the jaw is an uncommon form of extrapulmonary tuberculosis and is very rare. Tuberculosis of the jaw is more common in children below the age of 18 years. At Alta Stomatology, we're dedicated to offering one-stop services for tuberculous osteomyelitis research, including whole-genome sequencing, the development of novel therapies, and the molecular mechanisms behind this disorder. If you have any needs, please feel free to contact us.

Tuberculosis is considered an emerging disease worldwide. Tuberculosis is rarely confined to bone and develops frequently secondary to a systemic infection. However, oral presentation with bone involvement occurs in less than 3% of all reported cases. The clinical lesions of oral tuberculosis present as painful and irregular ulcers, especially in the posterior tongue area, pharynx, or palate, and they are frequently secondary to active pulmonary tuberculosis. Sometimes, bone invasion can lead to tuberculosis-related osteomyelitis.
The tongue and gingiva are the most common sites of infection. Other sites include tooth socket, the soft palatethe floor of mouth, lips, buccal mucosa, jaws, maxillary antrum and salivary glands. The clinical presentations of oro-facial tuberculosis may be ulcers, granulomas, tuberculous osteomyelitis of the jaws, tuberculous salivary glands and tuberculous lymphadenitis. Tuberculous osteomyelitis of the maxilla is an extremely rare condition of the oral cavity. It can present in an unusual form in the oral cavity and can be misdiagnosed. Mandibular osteomyelitis caused by M. tuberculosis infection is also a rare medical condition. The mechanism of propagation of tuberculosis infection to the mandibular bone can be by direct inoculation through dental extraction, lesions of the mucosa during teeth eruption, and spread from adjacent tissue or via a hematogenous route.

At Alta Stomatology, we are committed to providing top-notch services in the field of oral disease research, specifically focusing on tuberculous osteomyelitis and and its prevention and treatment. In lesions of tuberculous osteomyelitis, histopathology plays a major role in determining the final diagnosis and subsequent course of treatment. Simple and rapid molecular diagnosis is the basic method to establish early and effective medical and surgical treatment.

At Alta Stomatology, we understand the importance of accurate diagnosis for effective treatment of tuberculous osteomyelitis. That's why we have developed cutting-edge diagnosis methods to guide the diagnosis and assessment of the severity of jaw disease.
Diagnosis Methods | Description |
---|---|
X-ray Examination | We employ state-of-the-art X-ray technology to obtain detailed images of the jaw, enabling our experts to accurately identify lesions occurring in the jaw. |
Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) | Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a radiographic imaging method, using of use of a round or rectangular cone shaped X- ray beam with a single 360° scan. The Cone CBCT can be used to explore the third dimension of the lesion to diagnose the destructive extent of the lesion. |
